CONNECTING AT CAMP
Boys at Wildwood connect with each other on three different levels
The BUNK
Boys live and eat within intimate groups of five to seven boys and two counselors. We match campers together based on their individual personalities and interests to create unique bunks. Boys learn to trust each other as they share stories and play games.
Within the bunk, some of the closest bonds can be formed. We do not need algorithms to place campers. We take great pride in creating the bunk assignments based on our personal relationships with campers and counselors.
THE GROUP
In addition to the bunks, boys spend their day in an age group consisting of twenty-five to thirty campers.
Each of the five activity blocks give each group three choices per period and boys individually create their own schedules.
Boys benefit from having a wider age group during activity periods. There are more campers to share common interests with beyond the bunk.
Every evening after dinner, boys bond as an entire group during activities like kickball, ultimate frisbee, steal the bacon and capture the flag.
THE CAMP
Each day starts at the flagpole for everyone to hear announcements, game recaps and share special achievements from the day before. At Camp Wildwood, bunks and groups mix together and connect throughout the day, including at each meal. Camp-wide events like Color War, Campfires and House Cup are some of the events that create lifelong memories.
During evening activity, campers in different groups have the opportunity to hang with each other or challenge them to hoops or ping pong. Our camp family actually spends a lot of time with each other; that's what makes it a family.
