It Never Rains at Camp Wildwood
Basketball Challenge Day
It was a cool and rainy Maine summer day at Camp Wildwood. Normally at sleepaway camp, not much gets done on a day like today. But at Camp Wildwood, that is very much not the case! Our field house allows for all the boys to stay active throughout the day and our lodge is the perfect place for a relaxing movie. After scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit and cereal for breakfast and a cleaning of the bunks, the Cedar Pines, Hemlocks and Oaks caught a movie in the lodge. Over at the field house, the action opened with a Sequoias vs. Maples basketball challenge. After a last second Maple three point shot rimmed out for a final score of 34-32, the Sequoias were then challenged by the Sycamores in basketball. The winners got to go to the Gazebo for ice cream! The boys were back and forth for the entire game, but it was a corner three pointer with under a minute left that gave the Sequoias the lead and eventually the victory, 35-31!
Movies in the Lodge
After pizza for lunch and a relaxing rest hour, the two groups switched places. Senior Campers got their time in the lodge for a movie. While that was going on, the Jr. Camp Ivy League continued with a four game rotation in the gym. The boys played dodgeball, futsal, basketball and knock out! After ribs, fries and veggies for dinner, the Oaks impressed the entire camp with an amazing campfire. All of the boys participated and did a great job! The sun will return tomorrow and it’s not supposed to go anywhere for a while. Another great summer day at the best of the boys sleepaway camps in Bridgton, Maine. See you then!
